The night has a thousand eyes, And the day but one; Yet the light of the bright world dies With the dying sun.
The mind has a thousand eyes, And the heart but one: Yet the light of a whole life dies When love is done.
-- Francis William Bourdillon
You don't understand this I think you never did Silently I search for a reason to exist -- stabbing westward - ungod
Grew up in Wildwood in South Jersey, and graduated in 1999 from Cape May Tech in the Graphic Arts Program. Spent 2 and a half years in Pittsburgh attending the Art Institute, left before spending 60k on a hobby. Lived for 10 months in Alaska, wound up back in Tennessee. I don't know myself half as well as I'd like to. Hopefully this is the beginning of the rest of my life.
Sometimes I feel like an outsider amongst outsiders. That quirky guy you keep around to make yourself feel better.
---------------- This hasn't been edited in quite some time, and the above is both still accurate and slightly less accurate.
It is, in fact, the beginning of the rest of my life, and I think I know myself far better these days, but still not half as well as I'd like to. I realize my life is quite a bit more extraordinary than I give it credit for, though again, not quite as extraordinary as I'd like it to be. There are a million causes I'd love to stand for, though I don't know where to begin getting up on my feet to begin.
I am sadly a man of words more than a man of action, however, when action is called for, you will find me at the front, doing my best to rally others. Procrastination is a fine art, of which I am a renaissance master.
I do deep thinking at the strangest times, on the strangest things, often while my body is involved with other tasks.
I deeply believe that the troubles of the world are due to our hubris, pride and notion of civilization. We long ago began confusing wants with needs, and somehow little bits of paper with numbers on them became an almost global religion.
I am politically conservative, and ideally humanitarian. This gets me confused with a Socialist often, and my statement of political conservatism is likely to get me confused with a Republican. I'm happy to dispel that myth immediately as I find your political party system very silly, and will have none of it.
The message is often far more important than the messenger.
Now that I've rambled for a few paragraphs, you can get back to your life. This is assuming you've read this far and haven't done so already.

I'm near positive, at this point in my life, that I'm constantly misunderstood, misread, and underestimated, and that a lot of that might be my own fault. I can both praise and say fuck this year. If this isn't purgatory, I don't know what it is. I still feel like that outsider.
